數據表明,堅持6個月的低碳水化合物飲食後,糖尿病平均絕對風險降低了32%。與接受其他飲食控制的患者相比,接受低碳水化合物飲食的患者在第6個月時,每100個人裏多了32人達到糖尿病緩解。此外這種飲食方式還減少了患者的體重、改善了患者體內的三酸甘油脂濃度、減少了藥物的使用。
但是,這些好處大多在第12個月時有所減少,而且生活品質和膽固醇的指數也會在第12個月時退步。
未來可能還需要開展設計更好、時間更長的隨機試驗,來確定低碳水化合物飲食是否能夠持續降低體重、管理糖尿病,減少降低心血管疾病等併發症風險。”
